teen challenge
Friday, June 25, 2010 at 06:25PM Every year we get to take the High School Ministry up to Big Bear for what we call Teen Challenge. It is the first time the incoming freshman get to be with the rest of the high school. It's probably my favorite weekend of the year.
Tomorrow we will do a ropes course. Climbing, jumping, lots of fun stuff. It is so much fun. We won't get much sleep, but it's worth it.
The kids always come home inspired, changed, and closer to each other and God.
I'm looking forward to our devo tonight. Traci gets all the girls, and I take all the boys up on the mountain. We sit in the dark, talk about girls, and what it means to be a real man.
Billy and Isis are the most amazing people. They love this group, and put their whole heart into these kids. They are really amazing.
Joey and Alyssa Cabrerra are here, too. They have been such a great addition to the teens. And we got to steal Garret and Taryn Duenas from the Pre-Teens for the weekend. They are so great.
Please pray for us to hear God's voice and for safety for us all.

Thank you for this post Jay...I needed to be reminded too!
Sounds like an amazing time. My oldest, at 15, just came back from her second teen camp. So many good things said about camp and the campers, the snippets of the lessons from the video made me proud to have my kids there hearing about Jesus and that it was all about Him not them or what they needed to do or needed to be. And my daughter came home with a determination to study about and know God that she hasn't yet had. I'm proud of my daughter and of our churches here in the Ohio valley.
